The Ambassador of Haiti in Washington Bocchit Edmond is fired because of corruption

Bocchit Edmond, Ambassador of Haiti in Washington was recalled on Tuesday for corruption. His sister, Bettina Edmond, consul in New York, suffered the same ordeal.

He is no longer Haiti’s ambassador to Washington. He was recalled due to corruption, according to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs source. His sister Betina Edmond, consul in New York, also suffered the same fate.

Bocchit Edmond should be replaced by Louis Harold Joseph, a former Haitian ambassador to Washington from September 2010 to October 2011, according to our source.

Ambassador Bocchit Edmond has held several positions within Haitian diplomacy. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs under the presidency of Jovenel Moïse.

He had served as Haiti’s ambassador to the United States since December 2020.
